Hi! *waves* I'm Sam and I am your new ~~Emperor~~ modly person. Normally we will stick to the usual Friday posting of prompts but the UK had a general election this week so I'm a wee bit behind. So given we have lost two days, I'm going to use our mini time frame to inspire our prompt! Time for a community handoff, I think!

This isn't anybody's fault and a lot of it, I know, is to do with things like May the 4th also going on, as well as my own lack of involvement. But the last 3 prompts haven't had any responses and I completely forgot to post the mid-month one. It's also time to acknowledge that I am completely out of the fandom at this point - which may change once the new movie comes out this winter, but for now, I've got other fandoms taking up my attention. (Most recently I've fallen for a completely different set of space rogues and am probably going to be modding an exchange for Guardians of the Galaxy - oops.)

Therefore, I'm completely open to handing off this community to anyone who wants to mod it! You can change it up and make it something totally different, run fests through it, whatever you'd like to do with it.

If no one is interested, I think I'll just keep it up for anyone to use for inspiration if they like. I can also post the complete lists of unused prompts that I've got on hand (based on user suggestions, plus the ones I already had come up with for the first year).

So, if you are interested in volunteering to be added as a mod, just let me know! Otherwise the community will remain, but won't have any new content added going forward.

1 - Is there any reason to close the old prompt rounds to new entries? I used to close previous ones because I was making lists, but I can't see any reason now why they can't stay open. Unless ...

2- Does someone want to do roundup posts at the end of a round? That's definitely the part of the process I need to drop - posting new prompts is fun, I don't mind doing that at all! - but if someone else wants to do roundups to get more love for people's prompt fills, I'd be totally okay with that.

What I'll do is post a new prompt on the 1st and 15th of each month, with a reminder halfway in between, and an amnesty period every so often. I have now put notes on my calendar to try to stop the endless slide into procrastination. XD New prompts will start up again on March 1.

Okay, so as per the previous brainstorming post, there is still interest in this community (thanks everyone!) and people are generally okay with dropping the roundups and simply having prompts - which I am totally okay with doing; it was the roundups I used to struggle with.

I think what I'll do is post a new prompt every two weeks (and perhaps a reminder halfway in between if I remember). Feel free to drop me questions, comments, or suggestions at any time.

In the comments to this entry, suggest some prompts! I still have a few on a list, but it would be really helpful to have some more. They can be as general or specific as you like. Here is a list of prompts already used from the last amnesty round. If you'd like to see a previous prompt come back, feel free to put it in the comments. You can suggest as many as you like.

Hello, it's your extremely absent mod. *facepalm*

First of all, I want to apologize for never actually coming back and doing a roundup for the last amnesty round, or doing much of anything at all with the comm in the last few months, really.

You can probably guess what happened - it's basically a case of having wandered off into other fandoms. I REALLY appreciate the enthusiastic participation from the people who posted nearly every prompt (I think senmut and possibly Redrikki actually did post every time, which is a source of inspiration and awe ...!). Unfortunately, I'm no longer in the fandom enough to do regular posting rounds. So my question is, for the people still watching this community - what would you like to do with it?

I would be very happy to hand it off to someone else, if anyone else would like to take over. I can simply give you mod access and step away.

... that said, if no one wants to take over and anyone has an idea for something that would keep the community going with less mod involvement, I'm fine with that too. Longer rounds without roundups, perhaps? I'd be happy to post a new prompt every month or so and then wander off to other things, if the prompt inspiration is the important thing.

Basically just let me know what you would like to see from the community, if any of you are still around and still interested. And apologies, again, for basically going AWOL without explanation.

Look, I remembered! :D

This week's prompt is "Blood". This could refer to a blood relationship, getting hurt and bleeding .... midichlorians if you really want to go there ...

Also, I'm going to be traveling with unreliable Internet access for a month or so starting in mid-July, so what I think I'll do is have one more prompt next week and then open up an Amnesty round for the entire time I'm gone ('til mid-August). So start looking through those old prompts and thinking about ideas ...!
