And that's a wrap on the Strange New World challenge! If you miss a challenge, we will have regular amnesty periods (every couple of months, or so) for finishing stories started for earlier prompts, or taking a shot at ones you might've missed.

A fic that was started for a prompt can also be finished and posted like a normal fic, then linked during one of the amnesty periods; that'd work too. :D

Though, heh, I'm sort of making up the rules on the fly, here. :D Apparently what

mcuflashmeme is doing is leaving old posts open and letting people add fics as they finish them; they don't get added to the master post, though, since it'd be a lot of extra work for the mod to keep checking back on old posts all the time. We could also do that!

I think doing it the above way -- posting fics on AO3, or wherever, when/if they're done, then adding them to a fresh master list when the amnesty period comes around -- would give them more attention than if they were quietly posted to an older prompt post. But really, it's up to whatever people in the community think is best.

Oh, I think that's a very nice idea, actually! *_*
Only now I'm wondering is my fic is ever going to fit the initial prompt anymore by the time I post it, LOL. The more time passes the more words I keep adding the more the story goes in all kinds of directions. Oh, well... :D

That would be great, if we could post it when it is finished. I thought the due date for last week's prompt was today, so I have a story done already. Not sure I'd remember it come amnesty. ;p

Oh yes, please do go ahead and post it! :) Actually, I would be happy to add it to the master list if you let me know -- I just don't want to always be checking the older posts to see if there is anything new, especially when there are a lot more posts to go through. But I want to encourage as many people as possible to participate, and more fills are lovely!

I'm not sure if it would get overwhelming in the face of later comments, but are you able to set up old posts to notify you if anyone comments later? I don't think you should have to check manually.

Oh, this is definitely true! (Right now I have notifications turned off for those posts, but I could easily turn them back on.) And I am totally fine with people posting new fills to old posts after the masterlist has already been posted.

The reason I'm balking, though, is because I don't want to be collecting new fills and editing them into the masterlists when there are 20 or 30 of them, especially if the flashmeme gets busy. It's fine now when we're only on the second prompt, but doing it continuously is a mod headache I'd rather not take on. The

mcuflashmeme mod is dealing with that by just saying that old posts always stay open but the masterlists won't be updated past the deadline. I don't really want to do it that way because new fills probably won't be seen by most people, so I thought having amnesty periods might be a good compromise, so new fills would get some exposure! I'm willing to do it however the community thinks would be best; I just don't want to sign myself up for an ongoing mod headache.
